Media ‘freedom’ in West Papua exposed

West Papua, the Melanesian region in the Pacific ruled by Indonesia, has long been plagued by issues of media freedom.
But for the first time a journalist from the country has visited New Zealand to highlight how dire the situation really is. However, with increasing pressure on Indonesia’s new president, the country may soon see a change in media freedom. Interviewed: Tabloid Jubi editor Victor Mambor, NZ journalist Paul Bensemann, PMC director Professor David Robie, Green MP Catherine Delahunty. Reporter: Struan Purdie for Asia-Pacific Journalism
